The former KWU campus, in the Kaiserlei district of will be a bustling construction site by next year. Having successfully obtained preliminary building permission, Eike Becker_Architekten has now completed design development and has now submitted building permit applications. Simultaneously, a binding land use plan has been submitted to the city planning commission. The client, CG Gruppe, has managed to bring the entire block under their ownership and will develop a singular project right at the border of Frankfurt and Offenbach. On approximately 4,5 ha, a mixed use urban quarter with visually stimulating architecture surrounding attractive public squares and gardens is being envisioned. While both office towers will be converted to 662 apartments, a series of structures providing 240 apartments and 47800 sqm of space for retail, traditional offices, room for start-ups and light production work with a total of about 120000 sqm above ground and 33000 sqm below are being planned.
