Nowadays few designs are limited by the standard of technology – everything seems possible. That is why the compatibility of the original concept with the final building is of utmost importance. Whether the project is small or large our construction experience will detect any incongruity of the architectural design and the built reality.
That is why TEK TO NIK Architects pay a great deal of attention even to small tasks. According to our point of view every detail is worthy of our attention - whether it relates to design, planning, construction or site management.
Here we present some of our most successful recent projects. They all have been realized according to a precise design brief and construction programme and yet, we feel, they sometimes exceeded the expectations in more than one way.
Office building „FORTYSEVEN & CO.“, Mainzer Landstrasse 47, Frankfurt, Germany, 2015
The Frankfurt developer Max Baum Immobilien and the investment company Competo Capital Partners, Munich, purchased a site in the Frankfurt banking district that was then occupied by an office building from the Sixties. Solid natural stone elements, each up to 800 kg heavy and milled by computerized machinery, frame the 64 large scale square windows.
FortySeven & Co. has been awarded the German Natural Stone Prize, 2015, and gained the distinction "Winning Product“ at the Iconic Award, 2015.
Headquarters „MEDICO“ Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2017
The Medico Foundation commissioned TEK TO NIK Architects for their own new headquarters in the Frankfurt Eastend, not far from the twin towers of the European Central Bank (ECB). The free standing 42,000 sq ft building has seven floors and forms a cube with an edge length of 24.54 m. The 60 cm deep brick-facade gives a strong identity to the new city quarter. 25 % of the building will be occupied by Medico, the rest will be let.
Shopping Arcade „ZEIL 111“, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, 2018
On Germany’s busiest shopping street, Die Zeil, a site only 10 m long but 45 m deep, site belongs to the prestigious Else-Kröner-Fresenius foundation. The new building will house the historic chemist's shop and provide 25,000 sq ft for retail, surgeries and micro apartments. A generous three dimensional natural stone arch spanning the entire width of the site entrance. The archway and a prismatic bay window design will create further architectural interest.
